Adventure Begins at the Crossroads
Come wander into a world of fantasy made especially for new adventurers. Wizards and elves, goblins and gnomes, dragons and unicorns, all waiting to cross paths with curious readers as they step into the bustling streets of The Village at the Crossroads.
Welcome Traveller!
My name is Eldric, and I’ll be your wizard.
The crossroads are busy today, elves are trading stories, dwarves are hammering away at shiny things, and somewhere a wizard is absolutely losing his hat to the wind. Seriously, I've got to do something about that wind. You’ve arrived at the edge of a brand-new adventure, and the gates to fantasy have opened wide.
The Village at the Crossroads is a story made for young adventurers (ages 5+) and the grown-ups who read alongside them. Here, friendships are forged, quests begin, and every page hints at a world waiting to be explored.
Step inside, and see where the path will take you.
The Village at the Crossroads was dreamed up as a first gateway into fantasy—a place where young adventurers (ages 5+) can meet wizards, blacksmiths, rogues, dwarves, orcs, bards, and all sorts of curious folk. We hope this is where your child first falls in love with the magic of storytelling.
Our biggest wish is to capture the kind of wonder that’s kept readers returning to beloved worlds for generations. We take inspiration from Beatrix Potter’s unforgettable cast, the timeless charm of A.A. Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood, and the playful depth of Joe Brumm’s Bluey. Like them, we believe a rich world filled with recurring characters can spark joy for kids and grown-ups alike.
This is just the beginning. We’re writing a three-book collection that will introduce the Village and its characters, with even bigger plans beyond. In 2026, we plan to launch a crowdfunding campaign, but until then, we’ll be sharing early glimpses of our stories, art, and ideas as they take shape.
If you’d like to follow the journey, sign up for our newsletter to get updates (and be the first to hear when our campaign goes live). You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram, where the Village grows a little more each day.
Thanks for Stopping by, Friend!
Meet the Creators
The Village at the Crossroads began as a passion project between two friends who share a love of fantasy and the joy of telling stories. With a little help from fellow adventurers like you, Brandon and Sid hope to bring the Village to life and open its gates to young readers everywhere.
Sid has been a devoted nerd for as long as he can remember, but his love of fantasy fully blossomed when he first read The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. Always dreaming of creating a children’s book, he jumped at the chance when Brandon shared the idea for The Village at the Crossroads, becoming the project’s creative director.
He lives in Mount Pearl, NL, with his wife, Deanna, and their old dog, Bear. Sid is a lifelong storyteller – video games, Dungeons & Dragons (he’s even introduced Brandon to the game!), and countless creative pursuits, all keep his imagination active.
When Sid isn’t creating fantastical worlds for the Village, he’s crafting in the real world as co-owner of a marketing agency. To survive his daily dose of imposter syndrome, he unwinds with a game or dives into one of the hundreds of books on his ever-growing TBR, most of which he swears he’ll get to… eventually.

Brandon Copeland
Brandon has been spinning stories since he was seven, scribbling tales simply because he loved them. His lifelong love of fantasy began the day his father handed him a copy of The Hobbit, and it’s been at the heart of his imagination ever since.
The spark for The Village at the Crossroads came late one night while rocking his daughter, Addison, to sleep. Glancing at a four-book Peter Rabbit set on her shelf, he wondered: why wasn’t there a fantasy equivalent? A shared world filled with unique characters, ready to wander in and out of each other’s adventures.
Brandon was born and raised in Nova Scotia, but currently lives in Newfoundland, with his wife Valerie, and their two children. When he’s not exploring imaginary worlds, he works as a commercial real estate broker, follows far too many soccer leagues, and maintains the distinguished title of “enthusiastically mediocre golfer.”
